If the
Coll
LED is flashin
, the module is reportin
collisions on the Ethernet
network. While such collisions are normal, the fre
uenc
of the flashes is an
indication of the volume of traffic on the network. The flashes ma
be so fre
uent
that the LED appears to be shinin
steadil
. Heav
traffic will slow communications.
If response time is important to
our application,
ou should consider se
mentin
our network to reduce the fre
uenc
of collisions.
6.1.8 Application LED
If the module crashes, it will note the reason in a lo
. If the module is able to
recover, the
Appl
LED will li
ht, indicatin
that an entr
has been made in the error
lo
. To learn how to read and clear the error lo
, refer to the section below.
6.1.9 Readin
and Clearin
the Error Lo
If the
Appl
indicator is lit, entries have been made in the error lo
. The lo
ma
hold
up to 1023 entries. If the error lo
is full, the
Fault
indicator will remain on and the
module will be unable to recover until the lo
is cleared.
You ma
read the error lo
while the controller is runnin
or stopped, usin
the ER-
RLOG utilit
. However, if
ou plan to clear the error lo
,
ou must stop the controller
first. Durin
the pro
ram, ERRLOG will ask
ou whether
ou want to stop the con-
troller. If
ou respond
es, it will stop and restart the controller for
ou.
To read the error lo
, at the DOS prompt in the appropriate director
, t
pe:
ERRLOG <routing path> <slot> [/d] [/sxx] [/ny]
where
<routing path>
is the Modbus Plus address of the Quantum PLC
<slot>
is the slot number of the Ethernet web embedded server module.
[/d]
is optional, to enable debu
messa
es. Default is no debu
.
[/sxx]
is optional and specifies the software interrupt to use, xx in
hexadecimal. The default is 5c.
[/ny]
is optional and specifies the Modbus Plus adapter number to use,
.
CAUTION
PROCESS INTERRUPTION
Do not stop the controller unless it is safe to stop the operations it is controllin
. When a
controller is stopped, all operations under its control will also stop.
Failure to observe this precaution can result in injury or equipment damage.
